Pankration History

Like almost all ancient martial art, the origin of Pankration is linked with Greek mythology. The credit goes to the legends of greek mythology Heracles and Theseus . Heracles is well known greek myth strength and there is no need to explain about him. Theseus was the founder and king of Athens, another legend of ancient Greece.

First Martial Art

Martial arts have a long history. Its starts from ancient greek Pankration to modern mma (mixed martial arts). When some historians mentions as kalaripayattu, the Indian martial art, as the first martial art and some mentions Chinese martial art kung fu as the first martial art,  some historians argues Greek Pankration as the former of all these martial arts and points out that martial arts as Pankration reached India through Alexander's invasion.
